This beret is very well made. However getting a correct fit is a problem.The leather border inside is too stiff and lacks flexability, so there is no room for individual adjustments. It either fits or it doesn't there is no inbetween and I'm inbetween as I guess most people are!

Perhaps my expectations were a bit high, on account of the reasonably high price, but I was a little disappointed when I received the beret. To be fair, the XL size is perfect for my 61cm head measurement, the wool cloth material is fine and the beret is just big enough to shape without being floppy. However, the headband is leatherette and not leather, the lining feels and looks a bit synthetic and cheap and the label is glued in rather than being stitched. Not the end of the world though - it looks good and I will certainly be wearing it.

A beret may be worn in a blizzard, in the rain, in high winds, and keeps you dry and warm. It looks dashing with a jacket, and can be stowed in a pocket or sleeve. It may be worn with a rakish tilt, or pulled down snugly to ward off the cold. But, it is essential to get a real beret, and not some thin and flimsy imitation. This requires a Hoquy- the authentic french/basque wool beret. It will cost more but will last you for years, and it looks as good as the day you bought it, but acquires character with time.
Well made, waterproof wool with a satin lining-it is the best.

Man, I have always wanted a real Basque beret that fits and this is it. Worth every penny and it will last forever if I take care of it and don't leave it behind at a restaurant. Transaction was fast as was the exchange since I got my size wrong. Five stars and a doff of my very classy beret. Thanks!

I found this vendor to be excellent the product to be "world Class in quality and workmanship" the satin label, hand stiched into the Beret showing hte logo of the company, the leather headband is comfortable and the size is ture to my head size.
