This hat has a very nice look to it and fits very comfortably. I have worn it for 3 years now. Very nice for the intense sun here in Phx. AZ. Keeps my head as cool as it can given the extreme temperatures. It's not crushable though (just ask my wife), so I am buying my second one since the original hat found itself in the fold of our fold down seats.

I bought this hat for my dad and he loves it. It's a very nice quality for the price, equal to ones that cost $150 up in my opinion. The hat does run a little small, so you might want to order a size up.

This item was well worth buying. The construction, style and fit is superior to more expensive Panama Hats and is totally worthy of the "Stetson" name. I was as impressed with the delivery time as I am with the hat. The hat is "special" to me !

Today is March 14 and I just received my Stetson Retro Panama Straw Hat. I ordered the hat from Amazon/Del Monico on March 10, so already I'm extremely happy with the great fast service!
The hat arrived well packed and in perfect condition. I always wear a size 7-1/2 hat so I ordered an X-Large as recommended by Amazon/Del Monico. The hat fits perfectly and is extremely comfortable!
I received a great compliment from my girlfriend immediately when I put it on my head. Since she knows fashion very well, I always take her compliments (and constructive criticism) seriously. She loves it! She said it looks very stylish on me and has an expensive, well-made appearance.
I did a lot of research on Panama hats and wrestled between the grade 3 (Panama straw rating) Stetson Retro and much more expensive grade 8 Panama hats by other companies. The theory is that the higher the grade, the finer and tighter the weave of the Panama straw. It also takes a lot longer to hand-weave a grade 8 hat than it does to hand-weave a grade 3 hat, hence the much more expensive price. I settled on the Stetson due to the great reviews and very reasonable price.
This is the first Panama hat I've ever owned so I wasn't sure if I would like or wear it enough to justify spending a lot of money. However, I am now POSITIVE that this will be THE Summer hat for me! I intend to wear it constantly for the forseeable future during the hot months here in South Carolina.
If the hat does deteriorate after years of frequent usage, I will either buy another Stetson Retro or consider purchasing a higher grade Panama hat at that time. Either way, I intend to look seriously at Amazon's, Del Monico's, and Stetson's products again!

I really like this hat, and it will probably be my go-to hat during warm weather months, but be aware that "Stetson" does not appear on the band as it does in the picture, and according to a sticker inside my hat, it was "Made in Mexico" as opposed to woven in Ecuador, as the advertising states. Despite these two inconsistencies, I would buy this stylish and very comfortable hat again.
